2015 Club Opening Day & Summer Tennis Camps

Official Opening Day / Registration / Meet and Greet Date
May 30th 2015 - Tennis Courts - 9 am - 1 pm (weather permitting)

• If everyone could bring a small treat / snack - we can share a healthy pot-luck (Let me know what you are planning on bringing and I can update the group a few days in advance) - a few cases of water on hand and some healthy cookies will be otherwise available.
• Sporting Life will be there all day with Racket Demo's (just in case you are looking to upgrade your hardware).
• Also, If you are interested - there will be 2 beginner / intermediate clinics - from 9-9:45 and 10-10:45 AM to dust off the old cobwebs (please email us if you plan on attending).
• There will be Registration and Open tennis on the courts on May 16th as well - feel free to drop by if this date is more convenient. If neither of these dates is convenient for you - you can always mail your registration to: Kemptville Community Tennis Club, Box 394, Kemptville, Ontario, K0G 1J0
• (2015 Tennis Club Registration Fees: $20 / Person and $50 / Family).

July 13th July 20th Aug 3rd 2015 (Registering for Camps on Opening Day helps planning & scheduling, but we hope to have another in Mid to late June)

• Email or Message us for a printable Kids Camp Registration form - it contains a lot of information on key dates, the fees and times of events. Kindly fill out prior to registration.
• Feel free to forward the Registration forms to friends that may not be on our distribution list.
• This year we will try and organize more advanced play / lessons / matches for 'Youth Saturdays' (See a future post here).

2015 Club Notes

• Looking to improve membership participation on a regular basis. This way we can set aside certain court times for Ladies / Men / Youth / Seniors / Mixed - whatever and club members will know that there is always a group of 6-8 out on a specific day / evening. I am hoping that during Registration you will mingle and also let us know at registration some of these preferences. In addition, this year - we are going to try and offer - drop-in clinics throughout the season - to work on certain parts of your game - forehand /backhand/ overhead / volley etc....these will be on a registration basis and will be $5-10 / per person.

1st Annual North Grenville Health Wellness & Recreation Night

 

On April 10th 2014, North Grenville Health, Wellness, & Recreation Night invited KCTC to their first annual fun-filled information night at KPS. Here, local community groups of traditional and non-traditional sports, recreation and wellness can show off their club and activities. The key focus is to allow parents to learn about activities available to students during the summer months.

 

So armed with club information flyers, a half dozen junior racquets, tennis balls of different kinds and a portable junior net, the KCTC gang showed up and stayed busy all night.

 

The KCTC's Kids Camp being a kids favourite for a few years now - it was not long before returning parents came looking for information on this years camp or to introduce themselves and their children to the club and request information for this cool racquet sport event.

Whether it was signing up parents to the mailing list, handing out Kids Camp information, registering new or returning members, convincing kids that adult racquets were heavier and more difficult to try that the junior racquets, apologizing to other clubs for tennis balls flying past their table or finding a place for the kids to use the net without interrupting other group tables - it was a very successful night for spreading the word about the club's activities.

 

KCTC would like to thank Robert for the invitation, and all the kids who came out to try the sport of Tennis.
